Press Releases The New Hawk Kit - Cooperation between B&S DEA and NEXTEC B&S DEA and NEXTEC are proud to introduce their cooperation integrating the new Hawk Kit onto B&S DEA Coordinate Measurement Machines, thus offering the ultimate solution offered in the market today for high precision 3D scanning and digitizing. The HawK Kit is the only non-contact scanner that can measure shiny surfaces without painting, multicolor products, multi surface finish parts and a very large variety of materials and geometry. The Hawk Kit features the highly acclaimed WIZprobe, embedding the latest laser technology in fast and accurate scanning and verification of fine details. A state-of-the-art motion control system, coupled with the application software, tracks any free form part by automatic compensation along the laser beam direction. Based on the proprietary optics, the unique adaptive control and the sophisticated image processing software, the WIZprobe handles almost all materials and surface finish types, automatically performing self-calibration. The Hawk Kit can scan black to white to gauge block metal in a single scan, without painting or preparing the surface. In addition, the WIZprobe enables automatic surface contour tracking. Full compatibility with PH-10 motorized index heads and full Auto Joint Connection Compatibility permits easy access to all part features for accurate and repeatable measurement of narrow slots, holes and tiny part details. The combination of a large dynamic range and high accuracy makes it simple and easy to set up the scanning path and collect thousands of points per minute, quickly and accurately. There is no noise and no need to filter or post-process the pointcloud data. The WIZprobe provides single-point precision of six micron (1 s) and a feature precision of 1 micron (100 points best fit, 1 s), meeting the highest precision requirements. The Hawk Kit is the best solutions for First Article Verification, Reverse Engineering and CAD Compare applications. During the scanning process, the Hawk Kit displays and records the numerical data in real time. This data can be exported to 3D modeling software to create a CAD model for 3D part inspection. The output data can also be used to create CNC programs, enabling the user to machine a replica or any geometric variant of the shape. The combination of superior performance and low price ensures a fast Return On Investment with significant savings of both Manpower and Yield. The Hawk Kit will be exhibited at Control 2002 mounted onto B&S DEA Global 777 CMM at Hall 1 Stand 1130. |
